There will, of course, be no actual flights or aircraft involved; the trials team will also provide you with ‘bags’.

The ‘Join the Trials’ campaign, which began with roadshows in prominent locations, including Oman Avenues Mall, Muscat and Qurum City Centers and Muscat Grand Mall, comes on the heels of the last phase of trials, undertaken by the Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) at the new Airport. After successful completion of a series of internal technical, logistical and airport management operations among the internal stakeholders, ORAT has entered the last phase of trials.

Speaking about conducting the ORAT trials with the public, Saud bin Nasser bin Said Al-Hubaishi, General Manager of Readiness, OAMC, said, “Today, the Muscat International Airport development is the largest project ever undertaken in the history of Oman. We are excited to be part of the journey and introduce the public to what we believe will be the gateway to opportunity.”

The trials will welcome over 17,000 members of Muscat’s community to explore the new Airport and participate in the ORAT customer experience trials.
