Following the backlash from critics over size zero models, fashion designers may have taken a stance to open the catwalk for models who have sizes in regular numbers, but the world of fashion is still obsessed with designing clothes that fit people in the range of size 6 to 14, leaving little choice for plus size women. Though plus-size acceptance has become a vital movement in the fashion world, only a handful of designers cater to women in the plus-size range, restricting the availability of choices in casual as well as formal designer wear. Even popular fashion brands have limited choices in trendy wear that go beyond size 16 or XL.
So, where do you stand in the size zone? Do you toe the average line or do you have to contend with sizes that are nowhere close to your body measurements?
If you fall in the plus-size range, you would have endured fashion lapses every time a new trend hit the store near you. This does make it difficult if you want to walk along the fashion aisle and pick and choose clothes that carry the latest trend tag. The only option, perhaps, is to follow a mix-and-match routine and rock the look that is just right for the body you carry.
Fashion begins when you accept your body and learn to beautify it with the right accessories. For, in the complex world of fashion, it is the complementing accessories that act as a great leveler. And of course, confidence is the key element of how you carry yourself.
Accept your curves and wear the fashion that flatters your body. Remember plus IS beautiful.
