Bread, Butter And All Things Nice is what we will be singing for the staple sandwich. Whichever way you look at it, sandwiches will come up as winners when travelling long distance or picnicking by the beach

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices bread (white or brown)
  • 3tbsp butter
  • 2 slices Cheddar cheese

Method:

  1. Preheat a skillet or your regular pan over medium heat.
  2. Take a slice of bread and butter one side of it generously.
  3. Place the buttered side of the bread down on the pan and top it with one slice of cheese.
  4. Now butter the second slice of bread on one side and place it on top of the cheese with the buttered side up.
  5. Grill the sandwich until it turns lightly brown; flip the sandwich and grill the other side until you can see signs of the cheese melting.
  6. Follow the above steps with the other bread slices.
  7. Cut the sandwiches in triangles and serve hot. 

Egg Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 1tbsp butter
  • 1tsp yellow mustard
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1tbsp chopped green onion
  • A pinch of paprika
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Method:

  1. Boil eggs in a pan (To get perfectly boiled eggs, cover it with cold water, bring it to boil, remove immediately from heat; keep it covered for about 10 minutes, throw the hot water, add cold water) and peel and chop them into small pieces.
  2. Place the chopped eggs in a bowl and add in the mayonnaise, mustard and green onions.
  3. Follow that by adding in salt, pepper and paprika.
  4. Butter 2 slices of bread and put half the mixture on top of each slice.
  5. Top them with the other slices and serve – grilled or plain.

Grilled Chicken Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices bread
  • 200 grams grilled chicken breast (shredded)
  • 1 small red onion (sliced)
  • ½ avocado
  • ½ red bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1tbsp butter
  • Salt (to taste)

Method:

  1. Mash the avocado and season it with salt.
  2. Butter two slices of bread and spread half the avocado mixture on top of the buttered slices.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the chicken, onion, bell pepper and parsley and spread half of it on top of each of the avocado.
  4. Place the other slices of bread on top. Butter the top slice and bottom slices of bread and transfer them to the sandwich toaster.
  5. Serve hot.
