Timeless Fashion Songs

‘Songs are crucial to the process of dressing up and getting ready to go out,’ observes Ale Al Zadjali, as he shares his favourite fashion songs

I have talked about fashion, I have talked about the fashion visuals in music, and I’m sitting here tying up my boots to try them on one last time before I buy them. I have ‘Supermodel’ (You Better Work) playing and I genuinely believe that it completely changed the way I walked towards the dressing room mirror and evidently it sold me on buying another pair of Timberland boots!

The more I thought about it, the more I realised that songs are crucial to the process of dressing up and getting ready to go out. Whether it’s just a song playing in the background as you rush to find a T-shirt to throw on while your friends are waiting outside or if it’s an hour long ritual of lip syncing for your life and then five minutes of actually getting dressed, music can play a vital role in your fashion. That is why I decided to share my picks for timeless fashion songs that can either hype you out for a night out, make you feel like prancing on the runway, or simply give you, the reader, a chance to judge me for my…choices.

I am going to start with ‘Louboutins’ by Jennifer Lopez and I bet the women will feel just as empowered in their Aldo kitten heels. ‘Work’ by Britney Spears, ‘212’ by Azealia Banks, ‘It’s Not Right But It’s Okay’ by Whitney Houston, ‘Call Me Mother’ by RuPaul, ‘Phresh Out The Runway’ by Rihanna, ‘Work’ (Freemasons remix) by Kelly Rowland, ‘Labels or Love’ by Fergie and the obvious, ‘Fashion’ by Lady Gaga. In the end of the day, it all depends on your mood and preferred type of music; but if you want to feel ‘fierce’ those are my suggestions.
