Bank Muscat facilitates easy payment at Muscat Airport car parking

Facilitated by Bank Muscat’s agreement with Oman Airport Management Company in 2019, the new convenient electronic payment option for airport visitors allows payments to be made conveniently through debit, prepaid and credit cards at the parking meters, without the need to use exact change. The initiative complements government efforts in making e-payment as the preferred mode of payment in Oman and allows usage of all bank cards for payment of parking fees at the airport. Bank Muscat commenced card acquiring operations in 2002 and since then has crossed many milestones to become the largest acquirer and issuer of cards in Oman. The bank is currently working on multiple projects to provide custom-built payment solutions.

VOX Cinemas opens in Nizwa City

VOX Cinemas recently opened its first cinema in Nizwa City. The attraction provides another compelling entertainment option for the city and its surrounding communities, and caters to a broad audience of families, students, and tourists. The cinema opened at the city’s largest mall, Nizwa Grand Mall, and features five screens including MAX, an over 20-metre-long mega-screen. The Nizwa City opening marks VOX Cinemas’ thirteenth movie theatre in Oman as the brand continues to expand its presence in the Sultanate. The opening brings VOX Cinemas’ total number of screens to 514 across 50 locations in eight countries.

World’s best sailors to compete in Oman in 2021

The first global Olympic sailing class event post the 2020 Tokyo Games will be held in Oman, with Oman Sail selected to host next year’s 49er, 49erFX and Nacra World Championships at Al Mussanah Sports City. Oman’s global event hosting capabilities has been given a huge endorsement, with World Sailing selecting Oman Sail’s bid to host the World Championships for three Olympic classes. The 2021 49er, 49erFX and Nacra World Championships will be a truly global event on a scale not previously seen before in Oman. Teams from all over the world will journey to the Sultanate to be hosted at the world-class Al Mussanah Sports City in November next year, in a week-long festival of sailing.
