In line with the decisions of the Supreme Committee for dealing with the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Wattayah Motors and Dhofar Automotive will be reopening its service centres in order to meet service requests from its customer base throughout the Sultanate, simultaneously maintaining high standards of safety. The teams at the service centres are well-trained to deal with the current situation and the implementation of the new procedures will enhance health levels at all of their facilities. Customers can now pre-book for vehicle service at these service centres either online through the new digital platform or via the Zubair Automotive application.

Automobili Lamborghini is set to resume its production activities in accordance with the Italian Prime Minister’s decree of 26 April. The Sant’Agata Bolognese company is currently completing all preparatory measures to ensure its people return to work in conditions of maximum safety. The preparation for the reopening has been the subject of ongoing discussion and definition within the Joint Committee of the Company and Trade Unions on the COVID-19 emergency, set up in the wake of the temporary suspension of company activities on 13 March. Over the last weeks, the parties have worked together on a precise safety protocol governing the procedures for returning to work and the equipment to be used in order to ensure the maximum safety of Lamborghini’s workforce, starting with a comprehensive educational campaign.

AUDI AG takes stock after difficult first quarter

Against the backdrop of the ongoing corona pandemic, Audi is taking stock after a difficult first quarter of 2020. Due to lockdowns and closed dealerships worldwide, deliveries of Audi-brand cars fell by 21.1 percent in the first three months of this year. The Audi Group’s revenue amounted to €12,454 million and its operating return on sales was 0.1 percent. Despite the difficult economic conditions, a net cash flow of approximately €1 billion was achieved. In view of the financial impact of the corona pandemic, Audi had taken early countermeasures to safeguard its liquidity. Furthermore, the cash flow was boosted by the sale within the VW Group of AEV GmbH.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars records another chapter in its long story. It was on this day in 1904 that The Hon Charles Rolls first met Henry Royce at the Midland Hotel, Manchester – an encounter after which the motor car, and the world of luxury, would never be the same again. It is with a fitting sense of historical symmetry that production resumed at the Home of Rolls-Royce on 4th May, on the anniversary of Rolls first declaring of Royce, “I have met the greatest engineer in the World”.
