Meethaq, the pioneer of Islamic banking in Oman from Bank Muscat, in step with the Bank’s vision ‘To serve you better, everyday’ has enhanced its Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs) with an innovative feature for easy transfer of funds into Meethaq and Bank Muscat accounts. Meethaq Islamic Banking, which has been recognised as the Best Islamic Bank in Oman in 2019 by Islamic Finance News, has introduced this new feature for greater ease of banking for all. It allows an account holder at any Omani bank to use their ATM/Debit card to directly deposit cash 24/7 at a CDM without needing to use teller services at the branch. Apart from Meethaq CDMs, Bank Muscat CDMs can also be used to deposit funds into Meethaq and Bank Muscat accounts thereby giving the general public access to the largest network of CDMs in the country for making convenient fund transfers.

Orbit Car Rental & Lease, has recently purchased eight of Towel Auto Centre’s brand new JAC S3 Crossover SUV models for lease to a leading Fast-moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) business based in Oman. Orbit Car Rental & Lease says their client had requested a fleet of cars that would specifically cater to their sales team’s need to constantly be out and about on Oman’s roads to meet new customers. Requirements included a reasonable size SUV with lots of room to move in; that was easy to enter/exit many times throughout the day; that was absolutely reliable; and that had a handsome exterior and interior that they would always be proud to show off. The brand new JAC S3 Crossover SUV, which Towell Auto Centre recently launched in Oman, perfectly matched these requirements and was well accepted by the client.

ODP Receives Award for Industry Leadership in Virtual Datacentres

Oman Data Park (ODP), the Sultanate’s first IT-managed and cloud services provider, was presented with a special recognition award at the annual New Age Banking Summit – Oman 2020, recently held at Hotel Sheraton Oman. The participants of the summit included leaders of top banks in Oman, 100 delegates and over 280 online viewers from over 100 BFSI and information technology companies from across the GCC and Middle East countries.

The summit, which was held under the patronage of  His Excellency Tahir Salim Al Amri, Executive President, Central Bank of Oman, as the keynote speaker, focused on digital transformation for banking in future, Artificial Intelligence, the role of 5G technology in enhancing banking financial services, digital payments, mobile banking, the next level of digital customer experience and cyber security .
