Six Senses Zighy Bay introduces Own Eco-Vehicles

Six Senses Zighy Bay, in its role as an eco-advocate, has purchased its own fleet of seven of Nissan’s Pathfinder SV 4WD Hybrid vehicles, which will transport guests to the resort and take them for out-of-the-ordinary experiences in the surrounding region. Guests arriving at the border for transfer to the resort will get their first experience of the new vehicles, as they enjoy the exhilarating off-road approach to Six Senses Zighy Bay, while the hybrid vehicles will also be used to take them to Sense on the Edge, the resort’s fine dining experience on the mountaintop high above Zighy Bay. For adventurous guests, the cars will be used for excursions to Dibba town and the resort’s own farm and to the marina to enjoy a cruise from the Dhahab yacht. Adrenaline seeking guests can make use of the vehicles to transport them to paragliding from the mountaintop or for off-roading trips to the Sabatyn plateau.

Bank Muscat, MOHE sign agreement for 20 ‘Jesr Al Mustaqbal’ scholarships

Bank Muscat, as part of its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and Imprints social responsibility initiative, signed an agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education to provide 20 scholarships to Omani students pursuing undergraduate programmes in Oman during the 2017 -2018 academic year. Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sarmi, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Higher Education, and AbdulRazak Ali Issa, Chief Executive, Bank Muscat, signed the agreement for the bank’s ‘Jesr al Mustaqbal’ (Bridge to Future) higher education scholarships to be given to Omani youth belonging to social welfare families. With this, the total number of scholarships given by the bank through the Ministry of Higher Education touches 48.

Oman Air is reintroducing the Oman Air Pass. The Pass, which must be purchased and used online, is a simple, convenient and cost-effective way for guests to enjoy their trip with savings up to 50 percent. The Oman Air Pass, delivered by Optiontown, has been re-launched with a host of new destinations included – flights between Oman and other GCC countries and the Indian Subcontinent are all covered and guests will now be able to design a pass which suits their needs. Passes can be customised for individuals, families, groups of friends or business travellers; with guests being able to select up to 50 listed names. Timings are flexible and flights can be booked from six months to four hours in advance; flights being booked further in advance, receive the greater price advantage.   The ticket can then be utilised in a time span of one week or up to two years.

Shangri-La signs agreement with Omani company to manage its Water Sports Centre

Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa has chosen an Omani owned company, Uniboats, to exclusively manage its water sports facilities. Providing a major boost to entrepreneurial culture in Oman, executives of Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa signed an agreement with Adel Al Abri, founder of Uniboats, a 100 percent Omani-owned water sport equipment and activity company, to manage its water sports centre. The agreement was signed in the presence of chief guest Tariq Al Farsi, CEO, Al Raffd Fund, top executives of The Zubair Corporation (Z-Corp) and Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC). Adel Al Abri is also a member of Zubair SEC, a social responsibility initiative of Z-Corp.
