VOX Cinemas and Magic Planet have Reopened!
VOX Cinemas and Magic Planet across the Sultanate have now reopened in compliance with government guidelines. Both have undertaken extensive precautionary measures and put in place an all-encompassing sanitisation and physical distancing plan. Safe distancing ambassadors have been introduced and instructional signage has been installed. Guests are encouraged to advance book their tickets and carry out top-ups online. Contactless payment options are also available. The capacity in cinema auditoriums has also been reduced by 50% with seats next to, in front of and behind a guest’s selection left vacant. It is also now mandatory for employees to wear face masks as well as have their temperatures checked on arrival. All workstations and countertops will be sanitised every 30 minutes and staff will be required to wash their hands every 20 minutes as well as before handling food.
Oman Sail Officially Introduces SailFree Boats
In partnership with bp Oman, the Oman Paralympic Committee and Oman Sail marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by officially unveiling the RS Venture Connect boats, specifically-designed for the region’s first para-sailing initiative programme, SailFree. The programme aims to make sailing accessible to all, introducing people with physical impairments to the sport of sailing. The programme, has been targeted at both men and women aged between 16 and 30 years, training them at Oman Sail’s sailing schools in Al Mouj Muscat and Sur under guidance from the Oman Paralympic Committee. Participants will learn sailing in a highly-adaptable RS Venture Connect SCS sailing dinghy, which can be quickly configured to suit sailors with a wide range of physical impairments.
