The Arab Fashion Week 2021 featured various talented regional and international designers whose collections were peaking with innovation, creativity, and sustainability, we have brought you the highlights of Day Five of this incredible fashion week!
The Arab Fashion Week Day Five featured collections of five regional and international designers. In addition, the calendar hosted the Council’s Red Talks, an industry conversation between Zeina Ladki, Brand Development Consultant and Former Head of Buying at Harvey Nichols, with Jacob Abrian, Founder & Chief Executive at Arab Fashion Council discussing the best practice emerging brands should follow to succeed in attracting buyers.
HELIOT EMIL
A Ready-To-Wear brand presented by brothers Julius Juul and Victor Juul from Copenhagen, Denmark. A subversive Scandinavian and monochromatic aesthetic, combined with custom-developed materials, fabrics and trimmings, HELIOT EMIL entices high attention to detail throughout every branch.
AAVVA
Day Five saw the Dubai-based duo designers, Ahmad and Vincenzo showcasing a collection of couture evening pieces all made in a black and white colour theme. The feathers and crystal beading add a unique blend of elegance to this new collection.
IHAB JIRYIS
The Palestinian designer, Ihab Jiryis, presented for the first time his couture collection on the official calendar of the Arab Fashion Week. In his couture collection, Ihab manifested his ideology visually by drawing sketches and designs that will collate these two worlds. The collection features harmonically contradicting elements such as the exposed and the covered, colours that are completely different, fabrics that are plain and others that are embroidered.
MICHEAL CINCO
MICHAEL CINCO’s Fall-Winter collection showcased on Day Five is inspired by the mystique of the blue ocean beckons from afar as we delve deeper into the verdant entrails of this jungle called life. The Impalpable Dream of LOVE is a fairytale-like film with a story of a boy who dreams of a young girl who was lost in a secret garden. The collection is soft, airy, feminine gowns but accentuating feminine waists.
ANTONIO GRIMALDI
Antonio Grimaldi has been this season’s invited guest by the Arab Fashion Council to showcase his fashion collection, “Darkness of Light” at the Arab Fashion Week. He chooses Rome to digitally present the new collection and the Acquario Romano, a 19th-century building with marine environment decorations hosting the presentation of 32 creations of his new high fashion collection. The collection is characterised by asymmetrical cuts, sculptural lines in motion that became the stylistic hallmark of the Maison is divided into 3 main outfits: pantsuits, kaftans and evening dresses.
