Swarovski makes magic in its Wonderlab creation
Swarovski’s Wonderlab, an imaginary world where magic and science meet, comes into focus in bright technicolour with Collection II. With the new collection, Swarovski continues to tell its story of rich brand heritage, a love of the arts, and an appreciation of the natural world.
Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert introduces an arrangement of new pieces that continues an exploration into Swarovski’s Austrian heritage and serves as an investigation into the unique properties of the crystal, cut, colour and geometry. Visually, Collection II serves as a platform for the representation of people from all cultures and orientations.
While hyper-expressive colour remains a signature, Collection II elevates the role of clear crystal, looking at it in its purest form with pieces that are unapologetic in their scale and presence. As with its predecessor, Collection II is ripe with symbolism, simultaneously telling Swarovski’s brand story whilst playing with colours, textures, and cuts to create a plethora of pieces for individual self-expression—classic, punk, sweet, striking, and every personal expression in between.
Fabergé wows with Peacock Hand-Painted Watches
To set the fashion trends around for autumn, Fabergé has introduced two new additions to its Compliquée Peacock collection: The Compliquée Peacock Platinum and Rose Gold Hand-Painted Limited Edition Watches.
Limited to ten numbered pieces of each design, each watch dial is totally unique and features an intricate scene hand-painted by André Martinez, a specialist in miniaturist artistic painting on watch dials, depicting a peahen alongside the iconic peacock. These miniature masterpieces pop with colour, with vibrant blues, greens and orange.
The paintings are carried out with lacquers of exceptional quality. Whilst remaining true to traditional miniature painting techniques, these lacquers also meet high manufacturing standards, including resistance to UV rays; and they are environmentally friendly, biodegradable, and non-toxic.
Garrard’s Jewelled Vault will stun you
Bold in colour and breathtaking in design, the Jewelled Vault is home to Garrard’s most striking, unique and unusual gemstones. With no two stones and no two designs the same, each Jewelled Vault creation is truly one of a kind work of art.
Honouring the innate character and unique qualities that distinguish the world’s most exceptional stones – Royal Blue sapphires, Colombian emeralds, Pigeon’s Blood rubies, Padparadscha sapphires and other rarities – each stone in the Jewelled Vault is selected for its show-stopping beauty. The Jewelled Vault takes its inspiration from a royal style icon, whose love of the best and most beautiful gemstones was legendary.
Maria Alexandrovna, the Duchess of Edinburgh, travelled from Russia to England to marry Queen Victoria’s second son, Prince Alfred, in 1874. With her, she brought an incredible collection of jewels, which grew as she commissioned new designs from Garrard. From Queen Victoria’s sapphire cluster brooch to Princess Diana’s engagement ring, many of Garrard’s most famous royal jewels feature rare, exceptionally fine sapphires.
Ara Macaw comes alive in Sicis Jewels
Sicis Jewels are known for bringing back the ancient micromosaic technique in high jewellery collections and production. Sicis Jewels transforms one of the world’s most enchanting birds, Ara Macaw, into a unique jewellery piece.
Arara Scarlet collection pays tribute to the Ara Macaw, which was worshipped by Mayas as a symbol of strength and courage. Currently, the bird is endangered due to the intense colour of its plumage, ranging from deep blue to green, from yellow to bright red, which makes it unique and rare.
The Arara Scarlet Necklace is made of intertwined carnelians, has a central pendant made of white gold 18K, micromosaic, white diamonds 7.61ct and black diamonds 0.60ct, as well as multicoloured sapphires: yellow, orange; including rubies and carnelians.
To develop the contemporary collection, Sicis Jewels’ gemologists search for the right gemstones, the cut and colour to reliably represent its feathers’ brightest colours, extolling the wings and tail in every shade with micromosaic technique.
