Captain Marvel

Directors:  Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck

Cast: Brie Larson, Lee Pace, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Gemma Chan, Clark Gregg, Jude Law

Set in 1995, the story follows Danvers as she becomes Captain Marvel after the Earth is caught in the center of a galactic conflict between two alien worlds. She joins the alien Kree military team as one of the galaxy’s most powerful fighters in the middle of an intergalactic fight… All of this while sorting through questions about her past and identity.

At the core of the story is Carol Danvers’ passion to go higher, further and faster; her character is based on her need to prove herself, despite her immense power. Before she was a superhero, Carol Danvers was a colonel in the United States Air Force, where she served as a pilot, an intelligent officer and a NASA security officer. In the course of her career, she meets and shares adventures with an undercover alien soldier named Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel, who is posing as a human scientist. During one of the adventures she develops a host of superhuman abilities, which she later uses to become the superhero Ms. Marvel. Following the death of Captain Marvel, she assumes his mantle.
