Weekends are all about fun, frolic, and ice-cold refreshing milkshakes! You can always head out and grab a milkshake from your favourite cafe, or you can just enjoy these chilling, sweet, and delicious ice-cold delights at home. All you need to do is make them yourself! And there are plenty of simple-to-make recipes to choose from. We have for you some incredible milkshake recipes that are quick, easy, and just as decadent as any milkshake out there!

The Classics

Whether you’re a little child or a grown-up living the busy adult life, classic milkshakes can rejuvenate your energy and refresh the good old days like no other. We’re talking about the ‘Mighty Chocolate’ and the ‘Delightful Vanilla’ milkshakes.

Method:

In a blender, add three scoops of ice cream of your desired flavour (vanilla or chocolate), about a third of a cup of milk, and a lot of ice. Blend this for a minute or two until smooth. Pour and enjoy!

Notes:

  • You can use vanilla ice cream for your chocolate milkshake
  • Enhance the chocolate flavour by adding Nutella or crushed Oreos in the base recipe
  • Add sugar and adjust the amount of milk to get your desired sweetness and consistency
  • Top of your milkshake with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, and toppings such as sprinkles, chocolate chips, Oreos, and much more.

Goodness of Fruit

A lot of us love indulging in a delicious, old fashioned milkshake but sometimes, health, and fitness might just keep nudging our conscience a bit much. But who says you can’t enjoy a healthy milkshake and still feel the happy chills running all through your body?

Method:

Put together a cup of frozen fruit such as banana or strawberries, half a cup of milk, a few ice cubes, and a sweetener of your choice into a blender. Blend until smooth, serve and enjoy!

Notes:

  • If you want your milkshake to be thicker, add more ice and blend again.
  • Finish your milkshake with a scoop or ice cream or some freshly whipped cream.

Vegan Delight

For our vegan friends out there, we have for you a delicious milkshake that combines some of the most loved ingredients to give your tastebuds a heavenly ride – The Vegan Peanut Butter Milkshake.

Method:

Start by adding three chopped frozen bananas into a food processor and blitz till it crumbles. Follow this by a fourth of a cup of peanut butter and process again. When the mixture starts coming together, add half a cup of coconut milk, one splash at a time, while the food processor is running. Adding milk a little at a time ensures it is well incorporated and smoothens the mixture with each addition. Once the mixture is completely smooth, add a pinch of cinnamon powder and blitz for 15 more seconds. Have a taste. Add a little maple syrup if you need a little more sweetness. Pour and enjoy!

Notes:

  • While most peanut butter is vegan, as it is mostly made by blending vegan-friendly ingredients, read the label to either look for a sign that reads “vegan friendly” or check the ingredients to ensure there is no animal-related product
  • You will only need to add maple syrup to your milkshake if your bananas are not fully ripe or if you like the extra sweetness
  • Top your milkshake with peanut butter and quinoa to add a depth of flavour
