The Maldives is a three-hour 50-minute flight away from Muscat, making it the ideal weekend getaway destination. Unrivalled luxury, stunning white-sand coastlines and an amazing underwater world make the Maldives an obvious choice for a relaxing beach getaway. Maldives is made up of thousands of coral islands and is known for its beautiful beaches and extensive reefs. This also means that all Maldivian resorts have their own island, adding to the intimacy and privacy of the trip. Baros Islands is one such.
Baros Islands remains one of the easiest to reach from Malé – 25-minute speedboat ride away – opening up avenues ranging from relaxed island living to discovering the rich culture and heritage of one of the world’s most geographically dispersed countries.
There are many unique experiences that guests can explore during their stay here, including Naming your own Manta Ray, Black Coral Reef Exploration, Marina life discovery through Scuba Diving and Deep-Sea Diving, Deep Sea Fishing, Malé Island excursion or even an exclusive private cinema screening on a sandbank in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
Name your own Manta Ray
Guests can avail an opportunity to adopt and name a Manta Ray by participating in a survey being conducted by Divers Baros Maldives, the resort’s PADI five-star Gold Palm Dive Centre. In an effort to sustain the rich underwater life, the centre is constantly conducting studies and surveys, including the latest survey to identify the many Manta Rays that can be seen at the various dive sites close to the island. This has resulted in the identifying of new Manta Rays which have been entered into the first scientific database for Manta Rays maintained by the international Manta Matcher Organisation.
