A good hair day is everyone’s dream. Sadly, our realities are different each day and our hair doesn’t always listen to us or twist and turn the way we want it to, ebven with hair products.
Now, my hair journey has been a long one with several misses and thankfully some hits. Having been blessed with naturally curly but frizzy hair, I tried all sorts of hair products and techniques to calm those darn tresses down. I have fried my hair with blow driers, overused straighteners, and ultimately ended up with hair so distraught, I missed my natural hair. Five years later, I’m here to tell you guys we have all been there, and there is hope yet for our manes.
Brazlian Keratin Relaxing Treatment
To start off with, there are so many keratin treatments that it gets confusing which one to use for your hair. The easiest way to figure out what works best for your hair is to get an in-salon appointment with a reputed stylist or salon.
What it does – This treatment is an answered prayer for those of us with difficult-to manage hair. It smoothens and softens your frizz, leaving you with ultra-shiny, soft hair and smooth loose curls. It doesn’t rob your hair’s natural texture, but enhances it beautifully. This is one reason to love this treatment. It almost looks like a good permanent blow dry that lasts for about 4 months. This treatment was a game changer for me and one that let me reduce my daily hair routine to a maximum of 7 minutes.
It is essential that you follow the technique and products mentioned by the hairdresser to get the most out of this treatment.
What’s good – You don’t have to spend hours styling your hair after each wash. This treatment leaves you with a salon-type blowout look for months. This also means your hair gets relief from heat damage for months and can recuperate.
Hot Brushes
Hot brushes are the beauty world’s latest find. Different from irons and tongs, these give you smooth, sleek hair much quicker and easier. It’s a great tool to use while travelling, or if you are getting ready in a hurry. Again, spending less time with heat also means less damage on your hair.

Argan Oil
Commercially marketed by big brands as the supremely famous ‘Moroccan oil’, the core ingredient of this successful formulation is argan oil. Argan oil is a miracle worker for both skin and hair. If you have extremely damaged hair, argan oil is just the thing for you. It literally works like magic and smells great too. It is usually retailed as Moroccan oil, but if you can’t find it by that name, go for good quality argan oil from a reputed brand.
Some great products to try are Moroccan Oil, OGX’s Argan Oil Serum (which is super affordable), Pure Brazilian’s Argan Oil Serum, Poppy Austin Pure Organic Argan Oil and Aria Star Argan Oil.
