Muriya’s Hawana Salalah promotes Omani SME’s

Hawana Salalah, Oman’s largest Integrated Tourism Complex, recently launched the Hawana Fiesta events (weekly event), promoting Dhofari Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to its large influx of European tourists from countries including Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic and France amongst others. The lively event welcomes over 2,000 tourists who arrive to Hawana Salalah’s 1,100 hotel rooms each week, showcasing the products and services of the local small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs, Oman’s rich cultural heritage, as well as an array of lively entertainment. The weekly Hawana Fiesta has been organised in line with Muriya’s corporate social responsibility programme, providing a platform that nurtures Omani entrepreneurs.

New Resident Manager at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa

Ghislaine Lȇ has been appointed resident manager of Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa. A French national, Ghislaine joins the team of the award-winning Shangri-La resort in Muscat from Shangri-La Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa, Sri Lanka, where she was a resident manager. Prior to that, she held the position of director of rooms at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta in Indonesia. In her new role in Muscat, Ghislaine will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and development activities of the two hotels within Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa – Al Waha and Al Bandar. This includes operations of 460 guestrooms, 14 restaurants, lounges and bars, extensive conference and events facilities, leisure facilities, including Oman’s only Lazy River ride, a 500-metre pristine beach, exhilarating water sports and Shangri-La’s signature CHI, The Spa.
