ILLUSTRELLA Moda , Emirati fashion brand ILLUSTRELLA’s new line, debuts its first collection titled ‘Collection 6’, an array of gorgeous silhouettes and patterns that are, in every way, wearable art! ILLUSTRELLA Moda’s unique essence lies in the distinctive inspiration it draws from the majestic beauty of Japan. Painting a picture of a typical morning in Japan, of busy streets with pops of colour, the collection fuses essentially Japanese elements such as the traditional kimono, giving way to a line featuring wrap dresses, matching skirts and exaggerated sleeves.
The soft yellow, green, blue and white wax poetic about the serenity of Japanese culture; while the navy blue, orange and purple, perfect hues for the evening, make a bold statement.
An aspect that stands out throughout this collection is the attention to intricate details. Some pieces feature cherry blossoms on the sleeves, while big bow belts draw reference from kimonos and tassel edges from lanterns. Natural elements are embellished in the shape of branches, leaves and birds. And raw silk pieces designed with plisses symbolise the weaves of a traditional Japanese fan. Flowy silhouettes, ruffled sleeves, long trains, feathered fringes and cold shoulders add to the elegance of the collection.
