John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is a neo-noir action thriller film starring Keanu Reeves as the titular character in the third installment of the John Wick film series, following John Wick (2014) and John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017). At the end of John Wick: Chapter 2, the titular hitman went on the run after he broke the rules and murdered a high-level crime lord on the grounds of the Continental, the all-purpose sanctuary and day spa for assassins. Chapter 3 picks up right where that one left off, as John must survive the bounty on his head without the aid of the larger criminal underworld. Still on the run following his assassination of Santino D’Antonio in the Continental, and with a $14 million global contract on him, Jonathan ‘John’ Wick is banned from every Continental service, as the victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s ‘Excommunicado’ – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.
