The Muscat Ballroom of Kempinski Hotel Muscat set the scene with a glamorous display of its first Wedding Fair. The grand event showcased the ballroom as a palatial theatre of endless possibilities, introducing a variety of elements befitting a majestic soiree, in partnership with some of the country’s top wedding vendors. Guests were welcomed by Carsten Wiegandt, the General Manager of the hotel, and treated to a melange of flavours, from welcome beverages to traditional Omani delights, as well as the Hotel’s culinary offerings of Thai, Indian, and Levantine delicacies. Elegant bridal gowns – including a ‘Kempinski Bridal Gown’ designed especially for the event – adorned with dazzling jewellery were introduced on to the decorative wedding Kosha stage for all to see.
Bait Al Zubair celebrates its 20th anniversary
Bait Al Zubair celebrated its 20 year anniversary, under the auspices of HH Sayyid Mohammed bin Salim Al Said, whose father, HH Sayyid Salim bin Ali Al Said, first opened Bait Al Zubair back in 1998. The celebration also saw the announcement of the winners of the first Al Zubair Photography Award, which explored the theme of Omani architecture. Ahmed Al Toqi won the grand prize of OMR 4,000 for a photograph titled ‘Harat Al Rami’, Ian White took the second prize of OMR 2,000 for his image of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, and Sanjoy Sengupta got the third prize of OMR 1,000 for the image ‘Reflection.’ The first edition of the Al Zubair Photography Award received a over 1,600 registrations from over 40 different nationalities.
