Winners of Muscat Grand Mall’s Summer Promotion

Muscat Grand Mall (MGM) has announced the second and third lucky winners in the ‘8 Big Reasons to Shop This Summer’ promotion. The second prize draw was won by Majid Mohammed Said Al Mahruqi, while the third prize draw was won by Sulaiman Hassan Sulaiman Balaci; both of whom won a 2017 Honda Civic each. There are five more cars waiting for their owners. The second and third draw events were attended by a representative from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry who conducted the draw and announced the winner. Over the course of the promotion, visitors who spend RO 20 or more at any of the stores at MGM can enter into a draw to win one of eight Honda Civics.

New General Manager at Hormuz Grand Hotel, Muscat

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Panos Panagis as the General Manager of the Hormuz Grand Hotel Muscat, part of the Group’s Quorvus Collection. In addition, Panagis assumes the role of District Director for another four hotels in Oman, currently managed by the Group. Panagis joins the 231 room Hormuz Grand Hotel, Muscat after managing the Group’s Radisson Blu hotel in Bahrain for the previous six years. He brings over 29 years’ experience of multi-cultural environments from his previous assignments in Switzerland, United Kingdom, Germany, and Nigeria, where he managed one of the largest hotels and convention centres. A Swiss citizen of Greek origin, Panagis brings an energetic spirit to the role and is looking forward to the new challenge. ‘Oman is an enchanting destination and the Hormuz Grand Hotel, Muscat aims to deliver a personalized and engaging luxury experience combined with the distinctive character of local culture,’ said Panagis.

Quality of Omantel Youth Programme bears fruit at European events

The painstaking and effective work at the heart of the Omantel Youth Programme has been on display with Oman Sail youngsters excelling at two European venues. Racing at the internationally famous Kiel Week in Germany, Laser 4.7 sailors both finished in the top-10 against a 76-strong world class fleet, while Adnan Al Mabsali distinguished himself by topping the table in the silver fleet. At the same time in Quiberon, France, young windsurfers and Optimist sailors took part in 10 days of intensive training and practice racing to win selection for their upcoming world championships. The talented youngsters at each event, aged from 12 to 17, have emerged from the national initiative led by Oman Sail with the sponsorship support of telecom giant Omantel. All have been selected from Oman Sail’s schools at Al Mouj, Mussanah, Marina Bander Al Rowdha and Sur.

Bank Muscat Tadhamun support

The Tadhamun corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative launched by Bank Muscat,coinciding with the Holy Month of Ramadhan, reached the governorates of Muscat, Batinah and Dhahirah. Reiterating the bank’s dynamic ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and values of partnership, the Tadhamun convoy of vehicles carrying the bank’s employees and volunteers distributed basic electronic home appliances to beneficiary families identified by the Ministry of Social Development. The objective of the CSR initiative is to address the requirements of beneficiary homes which do not have basic home appliances. Basic electronic home appliances were distributed to beneficiary homes in the wilayats of Muscat, Batinah and Dhahirah governorates, providing them with an opportunity for a better quality of life. The Tadhamun distribution was carried out across Oman through the Holy Month of Ramadhan.
