Ariana Grande’s ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ is a visual masterpiece, states Ale Al Zadjali, as he throws the spotlight on her gravity-defying stunts and her striking attire
Lately, it has been much harder for me to find a music video that truly impresses me and takes me through the journey it creates. It’s not since Camila Cabello’s ‘Havana’ or Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ that a video (and song) truly left me mesmerised.
Just as April was about to end, Ariana Grande decided to release ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ – the song is actual perfection. It might only be 4 months into 2018 but I do declare that this is the peak of quality music for the year. The song wasn’t the only thing to have me obsessed and fully hooked, but the accompanying video impressed me even more. The set is an entire city, and Ariana defies gravity thinking she’s Batman jumping off rooftops and twirling on staircases. It’s a visual masterpiece, from the cinematography to Ariana herself.
The video starts with her rocking a long braid that is paired with a Victorian-esque skirt and a tank top! To me this was the standout of the video because she mastered the art of mixing in different elements to create a masterpiece.
Later on in the video, she pulled out the thigh-high boots with a polka dot dress, a metallic slip dress with matching heels, a bodysuit with a matching pair of socks and concluded the video with a jacket that she wore with the back down to represent the quintessential Ariana Grande aesthetic.
Basically, as Katy Perry would say, ‘WIG.’
