Eat more nuts to prevent weight gain. While nuts have always been a largely debated topic when it comes to diet and nutrition, new research reveals that eating more nuts can help prevent weight gain, despite being calorically rich. The mass study was conducted over a many years, with participants having to answer questionnaires about their consumption of 28g servings of nuts every four years. The resultant analyses showed that The analysis indicated that increasing daily nut consumption by half a serving was linked with a smaller risk of gaining two or more kilograms of weight over a four-year period. And the same half-serving increase in walnut intake was linked with a 15% lower obesity risk.
UN vows to bring health coverage to all by 2030
The United Nations adopted a comprehensive Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agreement on 23 September 2019 which requires countries to commit to providing an additional one billion people with essential health services and quality, safe, effective, affordable and essential medicines, vaccines, diagnostics and health technologies by 2023, with a further objective to cover all people by 2030. The declaration doesn’t only strive to bring accessible healthcare to all people within the next 11 years, but will drive progress in tackling communicable diseases like TB, HIV/AIDS. The member nations made the public commitment in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
