OAB Receives K2 Middle East Workflow Hero Award

Oman Arab Bank (OAB) was recently bestowed with the K2 Middle East Workflow Hero Award 2020. The award is a testament to the Bank’s efforts towards ensuring continuous dedication towards its key objective of enhancing overall customer experience and overcoming challenges within its business environment through innovative platforms, such as K2.

Launched in the last quarter of 2020, OAB’s ‘Step to the Future 3.0’ set the stage for the Bank’s next level of digital evolution. It included various AI-driven e-payment solutions and facilities, aimed at providing superior customer experience and convenience within the local banking industry.

The K2 Awards identify outstanding achievements of entities and organisations that have delivered world-class automation solutions via its K2 platform. Despite the challenging year and dynamic conditions, several businesses in the region have risen to the task to operate efficiently and maintain business continuity.

Oman Air Obtains IATA CEIV Pharma Certification

Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has been certified by the IATA Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators for Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma), confirming the airline’s capabilities for safeguarding the integrity of time- and temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products from point of origin to destination. In successfully obtaining the industry-wide standard, Oman Air now aims to grow its participation as an important carrier for the global biopharma industry.

Abdulaziz Al Raisi, CEO of Oman Air, commented, “I am delighted to announce that Oman Air has been certified by IATA for CEIV Pharma. The certification underpins our capabilities as a global cargo carrier for the quality handling of time- and temperature-sensitive healthcare products. This is especially significant during the current COVID crisis, a time when the integrity of vital medications, including vaccines, relies entirely on safe and dependable cold chain expertise both in the air and on the ground. To do so, our customers can benefit from our state-of-the-art facilities at the Muscat International Air Cargo HUB.”

Bank Muscat Contributes RO 1 Million to MoH for COVID Vaccines

Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, has announced the contribution of RO 1 million to the Ministry of Health to support the Ministry’s efforts against COVID-19. This contribution will help the Ministry provide more vaccine doses to people in Oman and is a part of the Bank’s plan and the strategy of enhancing its role in the field of community service and social responsibility. The Bank would also continue to collaborate with different institutions in the country to ensure the success of all measures to combat the spread of the pandemic.

On this important occasion, Sheikh Khalid Bin Mustahail Al Mashani, Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors, said:“ We appreciate the efforts of all the relevant authorities and institutions. This initiative is our national duty and social responsibility.” Bank Muscat also donated RO 1 million to the Ministry of Health in 2020 to support their efforts to limit the spread of the pandemic.
