Oman Air has won Middle East’s Leading Airline, Middle East’s Leading Airline: Customer Experience, and Middle East’s Leading Airline: Economy Class at the prominent World Travel Awards 2021, voted for by air travellers based on their own experiences. The awards were announced online this year and recognise Oman Air’s excellence for its onboard products and services, customer care and passenger experience.
In 2021, the airline has won ‘Best Airline Staff in the Middle East’ at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards 2021, a Five Star rating in the Major Airline category from the Airline Passenger Experience Association, the Skytrax 5-Star Covid-19 Airline Safety Rating, and the Skytrax 5-Star Covid-19 Lounge Safety Rating for its lounge at Muscat International Airport. The carrier and its Holidays division also earned the Safe Travels Stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council.
Oman Post Issues Commemorative Stamp
Under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin Bin Haitham Bin Tarik Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Oman Post, in collaboration with Oman Cricket, issued a new stamp commemorating Oman hosting its first ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. The historic occasion marks the Sultanate’s rise in cricket on-and-off the field after hosting the curtain-raiser among other matches for this international event at the lush grass of the Oman Cricket Academy Ground at Al Amerat.
Established in 2012, the 4,000-capacity venue enjoys picturesque views of the Al Hajar Mountains and has also witnessed many One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) tournaments to date. The special stamp valued at one Omani Riyal features an image of a cricket player swinging his bat, as well as the logos of the tournament and Oman Cricket. In addition, the stamp’s sheet features images of the hosting ground of Oman Cricket Academy, alongside Oman’s flag and those of the participating nations.
