Omran has unveiled its plans to roll out a promotional campaign that offers heavily discounted prices in Omran owned hotels to Omani Nationals during the summer season. In preparation for the launch of the campaign, H.E. Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Chairman of Omran met with the CEOs and General Managers of Omran owned hotels and resorts to review the details of the promotional campaign and incentives offered to Omani nationals. The campaign aims to promote domestic tourism and encourage locals to benefits from the offers and services at Omran hotels, as well as experience the various recreational activities suitable for individuals and families, while exploring tourist sites across the Sultanate.
Bank Muscat launches ‘Just Tap’ prepaid cards
Bank Muscat has announced the launch of its new ‘contactless’ debit , credit and prepaid cards. Packed with an array of features and benefits, the new contactless cards are designed to make everyday purchases and payments easier and faster. The Bank has branded its contactless feature as ‘Just Tap’. Amjad Iqbal Al Lawati, AGM – Cards & eBanking, Bank Muscat, said “Bank Muscat has been at the forefront of offering innovative products and services for greater ease of transaction and convenience to all its customers and the new contactless cards are a reflection of the Bank’s untiring efforts to increase banking convenience for its customers with the best solutions that technology has to offer today.” Customers will be able to complete their low-value point-of-sale (POS) transactions with a simple tap of the POS terminal without the need to enter their personal identification number (PIN) for transactions up to RO 20.
OBO receives prestigious award
Outward Bound Oman, and Director Mark Evans, were recently presented with the prestigious Geographical Award at the annual general meeting of the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) in London. The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG)’s medals and awards recognise excellence in geographical research and fieldwork, teaching and public engagement, and are presented annually to individuals who have made outstanding achievements. Recipients join a prestigious list that includes David Livingstone, Alfred Russel Wallace, Captain R. Scott and Sir David Attenborough. Since being founded in 2009, with seed funding from Dentons, Shell and Sheikh Suhail Bahwan, Outward Bound Oman has used challenging outdoor experiences to inspire more than 13,500 people to achieve more in their lives, and contribute to making Vision 2040 a reality in Oman.
Al Zubair Photography Award Honour Winners
The Al Zubair Photography Award honoured the winners of one of the highest awarding photography competitions in the region at Bait Al Zubair on Monday. Ahmed Al Toqi won first prize, Ian White claimed the second prize and Sanjoy Sengupta the third prize for their photographs of Omani architecture. Al Toqi was awarded the grand prize of OMR 4,000 for a photograph titled ‘Harat Al Ramil,’ White took away the second prize of OMR 2,000 for his image of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, and Sengupta the third prize of OMR 1,000 for the image titled ‘Reflection’ of the Royal Opera House Muscat. The biennial photography award explores a different theme every two years, with Omani architecture being the theme of the first edition.
