Is Food Delivery Safe?

There is no reason why you shouldn’t order and receive foods from delivery person at your door. Sometimes, take-out is actually a good way to get past the lockdown blues and cheer up. All you have to do is handle the packaging carefully. Since the food itself is safe, you will need to take precautions if you come in direct contact with other people and the food’s packaging.

  • If you are receiving food delivery, then avoid direct contact with the delivery person, wherein order is already paid for.
  • Ask the delivery person to simply place the food at your door and leave. This makes it safer for you to have the food in hand without any contact with the delivery person.
  • You should then place the delivery bag in the kitchen sink and remove all the packaging it came in.
  • The food should then be transferred to your own home utensils.
  • The containers and the packaging should then be immediately disposed off wearing protective gloves or wash your hands after handling the packaging.
  • It is advised to disinfect the sink after. You should wash hands for 20 seconds before eating.

While it’s not the time you let your guard down as yet, ordering food is safe when you take proper precautions.
