As the party season draws closer and your shindig looms large, the biggest, rather the main question would be who to include on the guest list. While birthdays and anniversaries often tend to be close-knit affairs, festive events demand more elaborate planning, with the list including even acquaintances from work/business.
So, how do you go about ensuring that the list is just right?
You could start by following some of the established do’s and don’ts that are designed to ensure your venue and menu complement the guests on the list. If your venue can accommodate 50 guests or less, draw up a list that begins with guests who are on top priority. While friends and family are bound to feature on the list, you might also want to consider as a priority those that you need to invite owing to social obligations. If you have been invited by colleagues or acquaintances to one or more parties during the course of the year, party etiquette requires you to do the same – unless you are not keen to attend more such events in the coming year.
You might also want to consider the mix of guests on the list to reduce your party day stress. Having guests who will get along well and share similar interests can turn your party into a winner. Alternately, make two guest lists: include names of all those who are on your priority margin in the first and follow that with a second after you hear regrets from the ones listed in the first.
