Ahmad Al Harthy and Oman Racing team-mate Tom Jackson wrapped up a faultless debut in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with a magnificent win at the Circuit de la Sarthe to impressively conclude their 2017 experience unbeaten.Having scorched to a tremendous GT3 victory during the opening race, the duo converted pole position in the second 55-minute encounter on Saturday morning into a superb win to secure back-to-back successes in front of hundreds of thousands of spectators. With the No.97 Oman Racing Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3, Muscat driver Al Harthy enjoyed every second on track and led throughout the opening stint. Pitting with just over half an hour to run to hand over to Jackson, the Briton rejoined the race in fifth and worked his way through to the lead before being edged back to second. Then, when a rival Porsche received a time penalty as a result of a short pit-stop, Jackson re-took the lead and victory.
OMRAN and DAMAC announce development partnership
Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN) have partnered with Dubai-based DAMAC International for the redevelopment of the historic Port Sultan Qaboos into a world-class, waterfront mix use destination. ‘Mina Sultan Qaboos Waterfront’ is being redeveloped into a USD1 billion integrated tourist port and lifestyle destination that includes hotels, residences, as well as a dining, retail, leisure and community facilities that is set to make it amongst the top waterfront destinations in the region. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the presence of H.E. Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Chairman of OMRAN, Hussain Sajwani, Chairman of DAMAC, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Al Futaisi, OMRAN board member, as well as other key dignitaries.
A’ Namaa Poultry signs RO 50 million Project Financing deal with Meethaq Islamic Banking
A’ Namaa Poultry Co. SAOC and Meethaq, the pioneer of Islamic banking in Oman from Bank Muscat, signed agreements to successfully conclude long-term financing facilities of RO50 Million to finance the biggest ‘Poultry Project’ of the Sultanate with a poultry meat producing capacity of 60,000 MT p.a., near Ibri, in Al Sawmahan Water catchment area. The Project will comprise of 240 poultry houses in addition to a Hatchery, Feed mill, Processing plant, Water treatment plant, other utilities and administration block.

Saleh Al Siyabi appointed Vice President of Sales of Al Mouj Muscat
Al Mouj Muscat has appointed Saleh Al Siyabi as Vice President of Sales. Al Siyabi joined Al Mouj Muscat as early as 2006 when it first started and grew along with the company in the field of property sales. During his professional career, Al Siyabi has attended many leadership and management programmes and is well equipped with knowledge and skills required to lead the sales teams of Al Mouj Muscat. Previously, Al Siyabi has worked as an Associate Sales and Marketing Director at the Grand Hyatt Muscat and started his career in 1997 at Sheraton Oman Hotel as a Sales Manager. He has a bachelor’s degree with honours in Marketing Management and a Master of Business Administration from University of Hull in the UK.
