Sohar Port and Freezone recently entered into a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Sohar University and Qualies (the Organization for Quality and Innovation Strategies). The collaboration will see a tree planting initiative that will further the principle of ecological protection and management, alongside ensuring all the operations of Sohar are in compliance with Oman’s sustainability objectives. The signing ceremony took place on July 17 at the Sohar University, with Suwaid Al Shemaisi, Executive Manager of Corporate Affairs representing the Port and Freezone. The greenhouse facility at Sohar University is a unique, comprehensive and self-sufficient project that is capable of producing several varieties of plants. The seeds of native trees will be nurtured at the greenhouse by utilising hydroponic technologies.
Muscat Bay completes Phase 1 of the development
Muscat Bay marked the milestone of completing phase 1 of the residential project in the second quarter of 2019. It officially opened up the Signature Parkland at the Zaha zone as part of Phase 1, and will look to open up the Village Square nearby and Jumeirah Hotel soon. The milestone marks the completion and availability of villas, apartments and duplexes in the property sections of Wajd, Zaha and Nameer. The Wajd hilltop villas host the most lucrative view at Muscat Bay, where 22 exclusive villas are situated in a private elevated hill area. The 33-Nameer island villas are centered in one of the largest man-made lagoons in the Sultanate. The Zaha properties include 200 residences, with 1-2 bedroom apartments, 3-bedroom penthouse apartments, and duplexes.
Muriya sells out Phases 1 and 2 of Jebel Sifah Heights Project
With construction progressing on schedule, Muriya has successfully sold out Phases 1 and 2 of its Jebel Sifah Heights, with handover scheduled at the end of 2019. The final phase of its project is now underway, with limited availability of freehold properties at competitive prices. Al Raffd Fund and OOMC launch 4th edition of Tasweik
Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO), in partnership with Al Raffd Fund, has celebrated the latest batch of Tasweik winners and announced the new season of the entrepreneurs’ supporting initiative. Tasweik, which is now in its fourth consecutive year, is a scheme that provides funding from Al Raffd Fund to 10 selected Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to enhance their marketing and branding activities. The 10 recipients from 2018, who received a combined total of OMR 80,000, were announced during the ceremony. Selected by a panel of experts, the winners are owners of various SMEs operating in different sectors in the Sultanate. Tasweik was introduced in 2016 with the aim of providing financial and professional assistance to promising SMEs among Oman’s entrepreneur community, helping them to grow their businesses to their full potential.
