Soft, golden beaches with cool aquamarine waters lashing the shore, contrast with an abundance of date palm orchards and hot springs located on the outskirts of the capital city of Muscat. New projects to restore historic sites, open hotels and restaurants in\ninterior locations, better roadways and facilities to ease access and to\ncombine the novel and the indigenous have helped cause the boom in the tourism industry,\nas we know it today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some of the new projects currently in\nprogress, and on their way to becoming some of the leading tourist hotspots in\nOman\u2019s repertoire\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-al-ashkhara\"><strong>Al Ashkhara<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The little fishing village of Al Ashkhara is home to\nbreathtaking beaches and pleasant weather. Situated in the South Al Sharqiyah\nregion, it has been a fairly low-key destination frequented by Oman\u2019s residents\nduring Eid holidays and vacations. However, the Ministry of Tourism has great\nplans for it. There will also be a team of officials to\nbetter manage traffic at the tourist site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete with waterfalls, ponds, caves and old\nvillages, not to forget amazing weather throughout the year, Wadi Bani Khalid\nis a one-stop weekend\/holiday destination for the whole family!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-al-ansab-wetland\"><strong>Al Ansab Wetland<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All nature lovers\u2026queue up, for Al Ansab Wetland is the place to be! Bang in the middle of Muscat city lies the gorgeous green patch of Al Ansab <a href=\"https:\/\/facesoman.com\/wetlands-of-al-wusta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wetland<\/a>. A true wonderland, the reserve is home to about 300 species of migratory birds that can be viewed during different parts of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reserve, located in the Wilayat of Bausher, sees\nscores of birders, wildlife researchers and school and college students\nvisiting. Managed by Haya Water, it houses five large ponds that were dug to\ncollect filtered water. There is also a special nursery for Omani trees and plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A verdant haven for flora and fauna, the Al Ansab\nwetland is a lovely green-scape tucked in between Muscat\u2019s mountains and dunes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-suhoor-cave\"><strong>Suhoor Cave<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Salalah is at its best right now, during the Khareef\nseason. The Dhofar region itself is known for its many tourist spots such as\nbeaches, blow-holes, monuments of historical importance and caves that attract\ntourists every year.
