A quest for perfection in all things personal and professional has helped shape Najeeb K.’s eventful career in the business of gold and diamond jewellery. Nearly a decade ago, 2007 to be specific, he took on the mantle of Malabar Gold & Diamonds as the Branch Head and put to practice the golden rule of business: Customer Satisfaction; a mantra that he has inculcated in the business ethos of Malabar Gold & Diamonds.
“I always focused on my work and believed in perfection in everything I did. I had a vision that I set out to achieve,” he states, tracing his early days in the highly complex world of gold and diamond jewellery business. He credits his team and management for supporting him and helping him channelise the growth of business network in the country. “I had my entire team and senior management supporting me from the very beginning itself…” adds Najeeb.
Today, as the Regional Head of Malabar Gold & Diamonds, he describes his company as one of the leading jewellery retailers, with 12 branches in Oman. It has, indeed, been a stupendous growth, from the first branch in Darsait in 2010 to the current 12 all over the country.
Recalling the initial days of business expansion and the significant development of the company, as well as his professional life, Najeeb explains: “We had to take many innovative measures and efforts to maintain our brand. Over the past 10 years, I have learned a lot about managing my career; it comes with experience and that is exactly what you must do to drive your personal growth and career success to a new level. We always focused on customer satisfaction and continue to serve our customers in the best possible way.”
According to Najeeb, it is this dedication to serve customers, manage personal goals and make perfection a priority that has put him ‘on a path to greater success’.
A native of Narikuni in Kerala, he credits his father, who was a teacher, for instilling in him a love for learning. “My father has always pushed me forward; he encouraged me to study and did everything to give me all the necessary education for my future success,” he points out.
As Najeeb continues pursuing his career goals in Oman, he also plans to give wings to his passion to help others. With support from his wife Jamshina Najeeb and children Aahil and Sufai, he hopes to find a perfect balance in his personal and professional life and realise his dreams. As he puts it, “After all these tiring years of study, I am ready to continue fighting for my dreams and somehow help others to ‘make the world a better place’.”
Up Close & Personal With Najeeb K.
The Home I grew up in…
I was born and brought up in Kerala. I lived in a small village in a place named Narikkuni, Calicut. My school was about 30 minutes away from my home and I walked all my way to school. Those days were the most memorable to me.
The Moment that changed me forever…
It was probably when I started my career in Malabar Gold & Diamonds, knowing different people from various places and interacting with them was a great learning experience.
My greatest inspiration…
I love to meet people, interact with them and, I would say, that meeting new people each day is something that excites me and inspires me. Last, but not the least, my family is my greatest inspiration.
My hero…
My parents have played such a big role in my life, given me strength in all the ups and downs of my life; also my teachers and superiors who were always with me.
My Success Mantra…
The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have given our best to the task.
In 10 years time, I hope to be…
Throughout my life, I have always wanted to become a successful businessman and make something great and valuable for my future; something that would make my family feel much happier than it feels now.
