Bare lips are a thing of the past. Look around you, women, even teens, have warm shades of reds, pinks, and bronze on their perfectly outlined lips. Lip cosmetics are at the core of any appearance of a woman. They instantly brighten up skin and believed to affect the mood.
With makeup manufacturers inundating the cosmetic market with lip colours, shades and textures of different kinds, there is, obviously, no excuse to leave those lips bare. But, on the other extreme, this very reason could prove to be an issue when you go shopping for lip products and trying to decide between the two categories of lip cosmetics: lipstick and lip gloss.
Which one to pick…?
Lipstick, of course, rules the roost, with the trend never waning; but there is no harm in experimenting to find out which new product could help you shade your lips one step better, rather get you dressed aptly for the occasion.
There is lip gloss, lip stain, lip liner…
Lipstick contains more pigmentation and can be used to get any look that you desire. With lipstick, you would have learnt that it is your best accessory if you want to go bold or simply want to add a pop of colour to your face. With a choice of creamy, shiny, and matte lipsticks, you can find the perfect stick to adorn your lips.
Normally a lip gloss is paler and more specifically used to get a shine. Lip gloss might seem like a winter product, with its sheen helping to hide the cracks, but it does have its appeal during summer too, if you want to get that casual look. It is more subtle and can be a perfect complement if you are wearing bold eye makeup. And well, if you want your selfie pout to look right, go with gloss.
Occasionally you can wear both lipstick and lip gloss where you are more likely to go with one over the other.
